Kelm Construction in Galveston, TX

Serving Galveston

Galveston Island faces the Gulf on one side and Galveston Bay on the other. Its housing ranges from historic homes to raised beach houses, and salt air and storm exposure shape how every system should be built.

Kelm Construction provides new homes and residential construction for homeowners in Galveston. We’re a local, family-run part of Kelm Home Services, based in Santa Fe, and the licenses behind the work are held by owner Clint Kelm: TECL #21849, TMEL #510665, RMPL #41051.

What to know about Galveston homes

• Building on the island involves wind, salt and storm considerations that shape everything from the foundation up.
• Coastal building means planning for wind and salt exposure in materials and equipment.
• Flood exposure affects foundation design, elevation and where equipment like a generator should sit. Engineering addresses it from the start.
• In established neighborhoods, new builds and residential projects often need to fit existing streets and utilities.
• Elevated construction affects layout, stairs, utilities and where mechanical equipment goes.
